Christian Marketing 2009
We need a Jericho approach to change...

I have scanned the Internet to find the most powerful strategies for promoting Christian literature, products and services. I am well aware of AIDA being used for centuries as ACTION, INTEREST, DESIRE AND ACTION but even after earning a batchelors degree in business, something more is needed for planning, effecting and maximizing Christian marketing.


Out of 35,000,000 Google articles one that ranks high in my agreement is: "Church Marketing Sucks". Now, I know this may not be what most religious or denominational leaders want to hear but the TRUTH must be told. I am over 40, and in my time, I can vow there has been little change or any clear strategy or approach to Christian marketing. In fact, I suggest to you that Christian marketing (different from world) does not even exist. Let us explore this notion and see what is true, comparative or needed.

Since the global success of Mel Gibson: The Passion of the Christ reaching sales of over $300-$500 Million, the world has taken notice of Christian, Christianity, religions, denominations and spiritual beliefs. Dan Browns: The Davinci Code closely followed and repeated the global success that the world is fascinated with mysteries, secrets, lies and uncovering truth. People as the world still love a good old gossip or some believable scandal, thought, lifestyle, or knowledge that goes against the norm or promotes intellect or empowerment within and around. Yet overall around the world Church Marketing Sucks.

Where are the leaders of religions and denominations that have proven their worth that Christian Marketing of products or services works outside of the sales of erroneous versions of the western Bible? Even with Mega Churches, how much of their income (outside of tithes) is actually generated from books and products via advertising or markeitng to Christians or the world?

Foxs News Corp, is getting in on the Christian Film action. They have allocated $5 Million to buying 12 Christian best selling fictions per year. Although this may not be the "Gospel Truth", this is good news! Fox Faith is the newly added Christian marketing and distributorship department of Rupert Murdoch. They have moved over 30 million DVD units of the Gospel. This is evidence that Christian movies have always been lucrative but few people have believed or had the "faith" to test the waters or consumers of the world.

The old world myth that being Christian is unpopular is DEAD!

Another powerful Christrian Guru marketer has to be not only the CyberRev.Com of course but Father Dave with over 3 Million hits to his personal website. I do know a marketer when I see one. They are NOT sales people! They are creative, strategic marketers, businessmen or businesswomen that carve, plan and implement all areas of marketing, promotion, sales and distribution life-cycles ensuring profitability succeeds.

TD Jakes and Bishop Eddie L Long, has to be high among the super-powers of Christian marketing. Megafest in 2005, attracted over 100,000 people in Atlanta, USA. [Source] The Christian and Christainity marketing potential from Roman Catholics to Baptist, Adventist and Kabbalah around the world is measureless.

I believe, that as the world deepens into chaos, misery and wars outlined in Matthew Chapter 24, you will see the global markets of the wealth of the unchurched transfer over to the last now who shall be first as the Twelve Tribes of Israel within. These are the true Christians that against all other religions and denominations are standing on the solid rock of truth that the heavens and the earth shall acknowledge.

Ministry Marketing Solutions, is another interesting, powerful, anointed website in-touch with effective Christian Marketing. Pam Perry is known as the "connector". She states: "I have come to realize that black churches largely have no infrastructure in which they can provide human resources, marketing and publicity help." This proves the notion that Christian Marketing is either a fad or a myth or there is no real desire by religious or denominational churches to house or cater for their members other than 1-hour Sunday lectures for an offering.

As a professional marketer, writer, coach and businessman after 40 plus years of hard-core experience and observation, why are religions and denominations not employing or job placing their own members?

I am bewildered as to how can any organization have 5-20 thousand members and RARELY or NEVER communicate with them or put professed Kingdom believers to work? I mean, is YHWH rich or poor? Does YHWH need entrepeneurs, nurses, physicians, laborers and all sorts of trades and expertise? Of course! That is why HE has made us all unique and individual unto ELOHIM. HE has also, created the WORLD as the field and HE has called for His Light and people to rule over darkness and world.

It is clearly a case of: MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.

How can the blind lead the blind? There is obviously enough tithes and cash being generated to purchase lavish lifestyles so why not enterprise and urban development for members that have been faithful unto YHWH? Isn't this a fantastic strategic vision and plan for Christian empowerment? I would like to hear from any Christian professional, religious or denominational leader that welcomes immediate change in the way Christians of all religions and denominations are being taught, ignored or marketed.

I believe, we have enough skills WITHIN the Kingdom of YHWH to demonstrate to the world we are self-reliant in all areas of economic and social regeneration, employment, health-care and business development. This is what will ensure that the world of unbelievers take notice of the dominion and prosperity promised to the Children of Israel, representative of all nations, tongues and people. This is what I pray and I am dedicated full-time to writing, marketing and promoting until this is manifested, so help me Yahshua.

Christian books, is another huge untapped expanding market that through the Internet has reduced the cost of not only printing, but promotion and marketing costs and barriers to entry. For any Christian believer today there are NO EXCUSES for anyone not to go for gold online. You can promote your book at Christian Book International to around 15,000 attendees for as little as $199 OR spend that money online spread across a number of websites or adwords advertising.

Strategic technological and digital outreach must now embrace and inter-lock with all marketing, promotional and sales activities. Failure to do so, will result in wasted budgets and millions of potential souls or consumers lost. One website I found highlights cell-phone, blogs and POD casting as effective strategies to promotion, evangelism and sales.  

Christians of today must understand that they are NOT of this world in mind, lifestyle or belief patterns. [See John 2: 15-17 KJV] Unless, you firmly understand and believe this to be true you will never come into the Kingdom understanding of dominion and prosperity within. Further, if Christians are not careful the unbelievers will railroad, control and further enslave them when all they needed to do was stand up boldly and ARISE.

I suggest, a JERICHO strategic approach to business, empowerment, planning and marketing:

J - Joy

E - Empowerment

R - Righteousness

I -  Imagination

C - Christ

H - Humility

O - Opportunity
